Patty Powers
Singer, Performer, Recording Artist
Patty Powers hails from the enchanting Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. It’s wine-growing country, where Patty began singing for audiences at the age of three, performing an adorable version of Harry Nilsson’s “Everybody’s Talkin’.”
Today, at maturity, Patty’s voice has aged like a Cabernet Franc, a wine oft-described as “a true classic, both earthy and refreshing.”
Patty is a master of phrasing, tempo and improvisation to meet the moment. Her consummate goal in each performance is to ensure her audience goes home delighted.
Just as Billie Holiday famously said, “I never sing a song the same way twice,” Patty Powers blends the music and mood of each performance to conjure up magic for the listeners.
Patty has sung backup for legends ranging from Barbra Streisand to Aretha Franklin and James Taylor. Her solo album, “A Perfect Love,” remains a soulful, uplifting inspiration for listeners not afraid to fall hopelessly in love with life.
She is at home with an eye-popping array of songs, from jazz and torch to pop and rock to music from the Great American Songbook, jazz standards, popular songs and show tunes guaranteed to delight an audience.
Whether she’s singing Ella or Frank, the Beatles or Bonnie Raitt, Patty’s vocal skill, experience and creativity allow her to interpret songs – to feel them, not just sing them. She can captivate a crowd and command a room.
If requested, Patty will provide her own accompaniment through husband David Marinelli, an accomplished pianist and keyboardist.
